Au Revoir Appendix

I was only 3 years old when I had my first post-birth hospital experience to re-align a cute but seriously lazy eye condition. A few days after returning home I refused point blank to open my eyes. As far as this little man was concerned it just wasn’t going to happen. My parents had no idea what to do with me. Finally, on the afternoon of the third day, a mate from down the local backstreet brought me a brand spankin’ new cap gun as a get better prezzie. Presto… I couldn’t resist a look.

Until last week that was the last time I’d had any significant internal work done. Just ten days ago though, after some ticked and double cross-checked medical confirmation this status was swiftly updated. Within the space of 12 hours I was shoved in a rather revealing ward gown, shaved where it counts and zipped down the hospital corridors to be emergency Appendectomy’d.
